Marriott Grand Cayman.....welcome?

Do you feel it's proper for a person in management at the Grand Cayman property ( or any property for that matter) to make mention, when I asked for my previously requested room upgrade, that I was staying on points?  I spend too many nights on the road at Marriott properties, and found this to be quite objectionable. I did check in with my Platinum Elite card, so he did know I was more than just a "standard" guest. BTW, the room upgrade was requested prior to the trip by the Rewards folks. I understand properties get sold out, and upgrades are not guaranteed, but I for one did not appreciate the comment.

Nor would I appreciate a comment of that nature. Points or paid should get any customer the same treatment and service. I most likely would have asked that particular person to 'clarify and qualify' that comment just before I asked him for his name and position.....

I agree with tef completely.  I would make sure they know I'm going to follow through and their name will be attached to this poor service.

No..I find it unacceptable for them to treat you like that..Now I would have asked to speak to the GM of the property and let him know that I was very diappointed that I was treated like that!!!

I can assure you that if the hotel is able to accommodate an upgrade they will do so, and we're confident it wasn't the associate's intent to offend you in any way. We appreciate feedback from valued guests like yourself to help improve our services as we do share this feedback with the property. Safe travels!
