More Marriott inflation

In case some of you missed it, Marriott is raising the categories of some properties effective March 15th.

But in all fairness my fellow Insider's, they are also lowering the categories of some properties - but not very many of them.

All told, 526 hotels are going up while a measly 100 are going down. A total of ten hotels are moving up to Category 8, so just about all properties in London and Paris will now be 8.

Reading the announcement it sounds like we asked for it when it states: "Based upon your feedback in years past, we are releasing the full list of changes for 2012 (categories 1-8)"

Read about it here:

(For each location tag, you will be guided through a 3-step process to add (1) a city and a state or a city and a country, (2) a Marriott brand, and (3) a Marriott hotel.)
