Can you earn points at two hotels simultaneously?

Hi,

Quick question.

In the summer I am going to Vegas for a couple of weeks staying at the Cosmopolitan.

About halfway through my trip I am planning on flying to SF for one night.

Instead of packing and carting all my luggage across to SF I was just going to travel super light and leave my stuff in my room in Vegas.

I was just wondering if I stayed at a Marriott in SF is it possible to earn points at 2 properties at the same time?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Cheers

As long as you are paying at one and the other you should have no issues in getting elite room nights and points for both.  At least that's what I think the rules allow.  It says rooms are credited when you personally stay in them, which you'll be doing.

I did this once, a couple of years back. We had a five night stay in Charleston, SC... In the middle of that stay,we did a day trip to Savannah, GA and stayed at a SHS.  We didn't check out of the hotel in Charleston. I recall getting credit for both stays.
