I just returned from a four night stay at the Residence Inn in Huntington Beach/Fountain Valley, CA. I want to commend the excellent service I was given. I had booked a studio suite and was expecting it to have a full kitchen that included a stove with oven. This is what the description on Marriott.com states and is my experience at other Residence Inns. Apparently in refurbishing, the studio suites no longer include an oven with their stovetops. (Just a microwave oven.) I was quite dismayed as I had planned doing Christmas baking with two sets of grandchildren and had brought along many supplies. The front desk graciously upgraded us to a 2 bdrm, 2 bath suite with full kitchen for three of our four nights (at no additonal expense). Because all the 2 bdrm suites were booked for our final night it was necessary to relocate to a studio suite then. We thought this was a most accepetable solution and on our final night, as a consolation for having to move, we were charged only half price. A very good deal indeed that was greatly appreciated.

nanaglo45 -- nice critique of the Huntington Beach RI.  Glad they were able to help you out with a stove/oven so you could bake and spend time with your grand children.
