Gen X and Y

I see in a trade magazine that Marriott has invested $6M in a series of ads aimed at this younger demographic.  Perhaps that explains the new social neworking look of Insiders?

No doubt about it. As I mentioned in another post, I participated in the "FaceBook" survey - another attempt at linking Marriott with the younger crowd.

Too bad they are not paying the same attention to us "old timers" that have produced a lot of revenue for the Marriott!!!!

Good companies are able to handle the needs and wants of all customers, and in my opinion, there is a real danger for any concern that specializes in only one demographic, especially one that moves from thing to thing so quickly that there is little loyalty involved.

Couldn't agree more. Changes like these without regard to the current customer base (us old time Platinums) come to the 'lightbulb' phase when the management no longer sees the revenues from the oldies and aren't getting the revenues from the 'new' target and cry out with the 'what happened'. It's too late then.
