I want to know how many points I get for each night, and how many points I need for free nights. There is a Marriott Rewards Points Chart that I saw but it must be wrong if I only accumulated 12,120 points for 6 nights.
The number of points you earned from this stay indicates that you paid $202 + tax each night for the room. At Courtyard, you earn points only on the base rate of the room, and when you you achieve Silver, Gold, and Platinum, you'll earn an additional 20, 25, and 50% respectively. Otherwise, if you think your account is wrong, you'll probably get a better answer by calling Marriott Customer Service.
Husker is right on! 12,120 points is the correct points credit for Courtyard room charges totalling $1,212 because the formula for base points at Courtyard is 10 points for every dollar spent on room charges, not including tax or ancillary charges such as meals, parking, etc. ON THE OTHER HAND, At full-service Marriotts, Rennaissance, JW Marriott, Ritz and several of the other top-line Marriott brands, you will also receive 10 points for every dollar spent on ancillary charges, such as restaurants, parking, etc. in addition to points for room charges. Whereas, at Townplace Suites and Residence Inns, you will received 5 points for every dollar spent on room charges only excluding tax. This is all explained in simple terms in the Marriott Rewards section of the Marriott.com website. Read on!
