Have 621,000 points to spend on an inclusive travel package with bus class flights. Some where nice eg Caribean, Canada, some where different in North America. Couples style location with conciege lounge. My wife and I live in the Uk. Any proposals?
What time of year? Someplace like Aruba would be nice in February or Montreal in July, but probably not the other way around. Those are extreme examples, but it would help people make recommendations for local areas/activities. Regardless, you should take advantage of the Hotel+Air packages available (http://www.marriott.com/rewards/usepoints/morepack.mi). It's pretty hard to beat the 1:1 points to miles ratio. I really enjoyed Jamaica when I was there about 10 years ago. I've wanted to go back but was always disappointed that there wasn't a Marriott property there. Now that they're partnered with Ritz-Carlton, I may make it back there in the future.
Personally, I always think hard about the use of my points and how they are spent. If a package costs x amount of points but I can get a cheap airfare on my own, I'll save the points. Same goes for hotels where I will be staying. If there are CAT5, 6, 7 & 8 hotels in a city I'll be visiting, I tend to save points by staying at the CAT5 property. To me a hotel is primarily a place to sleep. I did just that last year in Rome. I could have stayed at the Grand Flora in Rome (Cat 8) but opted for the Rome Central Park Courtyard and saved enough points for another week somewhere else. The Courtyard was excellent (but a bit out of the way) and I felt even better about my decision once I checked in.
