Please note the certificate will be applicable for hotels with Level 4 and bellow, thus plan accordingly! Also, the certificate maybe AUTOMATICALLY placed and/or deposited into your Marriott account, check your account on the Marrtiott website first.
My initial certificate was posted about a month after receiving, activating, and performing the first use of my card. Subsequent years my certificate has posted within days of my card aniversary. To utilize the certificate you will need to phone the reservations center, online booking is not available with the certificate at this time. The certificate has a 6 month expiration period.
My guess is that it depends on when you made your first purchase and the date of your billing cycle. My usage points usually show up on the same day every month, so you'll probably see it at that point when Chase runs whatever batch process updates Marriott with your status.
Generally Marriott Rewards members are only eligible for an activation "free night" certificate when opening their first Chase account. If you already had a Chase account and closed it, you are likely not eligible for another e-certificate with the new card. If you are eligible, the free night certificate should be posted immediately after your account is approved. If anyone has specific questions regarding their account, please send us a private message and we'll be happy to research your account for you. Regards, Laura
