Sorry but no. Ritz seems to consider itself not really a player, though points can be used there. Ritz apparently does not have a formal Loyalty Program like Marriott Rewards. Brand identity being what it is the folks at Ritz want to separate themselves from the Marriott Rewards program and from Marriott itself (my opinion). You do not earn Reward points even if paying, and the Club Floor is only available to those who pay that rate, depending on day, it can be quite substantial in dollars over and above the regular rate.
Yes, you should get normal Platinum benefits with room upgrade opportunities and access to their Concierge lounge even if you use points, but that remains to be seen. I hope that insiders will weigh in on their experiences. They probably designed the Ritz program as a separate program with-in Marriott Rewards , so that they could avoid providing benefits. Regular Marriott brands do give Platinum benefits and room upgrade opportunities and access to their Concierge lounge so I hope that Ritz will too. Stepping stone knows the details and I respect Stepping Stones opinion but I cant help hoping
