Has anyone stayed at the Renaissance in P. Rico ? Thinking of a family vacation to PR this Spring ( First time to visit PR!) Any suggestions...is it safe. Any suggestions for a hotel other than Renaissamce?? Thank you
Planning on going to honeymoon in July. Would like to go to a beach destination. I have around 400k points. Any help would be appreciated and if you could specify a specific property that would be great.
Can anyone recommend a relaxing location to spend a long weekend for our upcoming 10th anniversary? We'll be traveling from Boston in late September/early October. We love the Carribean but I worry about hurricane season that time of year.
HI Ronaldc I would recommend Aruba if you want to enjoy a truly chilled out time. There is absolutely no crime in Aruba and the island is referred to as the happy island - the people are extremely friendly and happy. I would stay at the Aruba ocean club, ocean front if you can get it - we own here - surf club is slightly busier and tends to cater more for larger families and children. There are loads of fabulous restaurants both on site and to travel to easily by taxi. Book to go on an evening sunset cruise it is truly romantic and thoroughly enjoyable. You will see a sunset every evening but the best is up at the windmill. You can hire a jeep and get ground the island in one day.
If you want to visit for more than one week, we normally stay 10 days by adding some extra days at the tradewinds in the stellarios, which is a boutique hotel within a hotel. They have their own private beach and all food and drink is included in the rate it is very popular with Americans.
There are 3 marriotts all next door to each other and you can walk down the beach to other hotels and bars. When we were there in September there was a new ritz Carlton being built next to the Marriott. There was little if any disruption and could well be finished by the time you get there.
Hope you find a fab place to celebrate your anniversary.
My favorite islands are Curacao, Saint Maarten and St.Kitts.
I don't think there is a Marriott on Saint Maarten though.
There have been rave reviews from several MIs for Marriott Properties on Aruba, Curacao and St. Kitts.
