I need to find the closest Marriott to the Sands Expo in Las Vegas. I will be in Vegas at the end of August. I will have a car but will most likely be walking to and from. Recommendations? - Thanks in Advance
One of the best features on Marriott.com is the advanced search link. Once clicked, you are taken to this screen: https://www.marriott.com/search/default.mi Once there, click on the "near an address" button. You type in the address of Sands Expo in Las Vegas and click on FIND.
Well, certainly not the Residence Inn Hughes Center, they have the Worst customer service ever! STAY ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE PLEASE The area is perfect to relax and enjoy the off-strip silence, the pool and jacuzzi were just the right size (maybe a little too much chlorine) and the rooms were cleaned. We are loyal members and have stayed in different areas and brands, and receive superior services, a basket of goodies a couple of time, breakfast daily and comp small bottled water; here we were treated very unfairly. We were not greeted with a smile, we were not even WELCOMED. There is a male specifically who was beyond rude and i wanted to complain directly to the manager but he was unavailable. At the check-in desk there was 1 person in front of us. he had so sign some papers and whatnot, it was taking a bit of a while, he was offered a water bottle a nd asked if he needed any extras in his room. The Rep seemed to be irritated and got on the phone, without acknowledging us at all, a female rep said she could help us on the side desk, I had to notify her that we were going to use our reward point and our certificates. she said they were not there, that they were probably in "cyberworld" and that she was going to charge my credit card and then look into it. We had no time to discuss that and hurried to our room, on our way back down we asked the male rep if we could have a bottle of water please, he gave us a look that was, to me discriminating, unreal. he said "oh we don't have water!" i looked back and said "u don't have water? wow this is the first place that doesn't have water" and Just walked away. The next afternoon i went downstairs for a walk and asked a different female rep for a complimentary water she said, "oh, we don't have THOSE" wow...i was truly amazed at the way we were treated and i am waiting for an email that i'm sure is never going to reach me. Its not much of a deal because of the water, but because of they way everyone was treating us, WE FELT VERY DISCRIMINATED. what was the difference with the guy that checked in ahead of us who was welcomed and offered many things to? NEVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN!!
Not sure about the location - although this one is in the middle of everything - but a number of us have posted about this property (Autograph-Cosmopolitan), which just opened around the first of this calendar year. It's extraordinary, and it's worth a try!
