Thinking about visiting Chicago for the first time. What full service Marriott do you recommend? We would be interested in hearing lots of music, some museums, some shopping, and getting to know the area in general.
The Marriott on Michigan Avenue is the ideal location. It is located in the middle of the Miracle Mile shopping heaven. In addition, some of the best eating in Chicago is within walking distance. From this location you are a quick cab ride to the Shedd Aquarium, the Field Musuem, Grant Park, Navy Pier and to many music venues in the city. There are also other Marriott brands in the general vicinty like the Renaissance on Wacker, The Blackstone, but for the first time visit, stay at the Marriott Miracle Mile. It is a great location.
Having both stayed and lived in Chicago, I highly recommend the Chicago Marriott downtown near the Magnificent Mile. It is full service with great concierge and great location. I believe it is between Ohio and Michigan Avenues. If you prefer to be more in the heart of downtown near the Loop area, which is closer to the museums and music venues, as well as Millenium Park, I have heard great things about the Renaissance.
