Were you enrolled in Marriott Rewards at the time? You can request credit for a missing stay by contacting customer support, but I believe you need a copy of the folio to send them. I didn't see a time limit. If you were not enrolled in Marriott Rewards at the time, you're out of luck. You can request credit for stays up to 30 days (thanks for the correction TEF) prior to your enrollment, but 2009 obviously doesn't fall within that timeframe.
If you are looking for points for this stay, I don't believe that you can claim them, even if you were not a Marriott rewards customer at the time. Even if you were not, the rule is you can claim points and elite night credit for a stay if you join Marriott rewards within 30 days of the stay and apply for the points/elite night credit within 60 days after the stay. For this info, go to http://www.marriott.com/rewards/terms/earning.mi Scroll down to Earn points. See Item #4. Hope this helps.
