I was not afforded the Platinum privleges at the Ritz Carlon in Beijing. I was however offer the Lounge and free internet at the Ritz in Seoul earlier in the week. What gives here? Should I have received the priveleges or not and why is their an inconsistency in the offer?
I can understand your confusion about the inconsistencies in your experiences at the Ritz-Carlton hotels you have visited. To clarify, Ritz-Carlton does not offer the same Elite member benefits as the Marriott hotels. Specifically, "lounge access" is not a Platinum member benefit at Ritz-Carlton hotels, however free Internet is a benefit. Although the Ritz-Carlton in Seoul gave you access to the lounge as a courtesy to you as their guest, this is not a promised Elite benefit at all Ritz-Carlton hotels.
