Looking for a Marriott Resort. Any great ideas for a mother (52)-daughter (24) trip? Have considered all-inclusives, stuck at the resort for a week, a cruise will be fun, any great marriott reosrts recommendations in any cool U.S. cities? Any food tours? We have a week.
Well, living in Southern California I think that this time of year would be a great time for you to come here. You can stay in San Diego at the marina where they have whale watching, cruises, great restaurants, Gaslamp area, the zoo, and nice beaches. Or you can go a little further north to Orange County/Dana Point area and have cruises to Catalina Island which is pretty, whale watching, nice beaches, lots of shopping/restaurants, Disneyland, and you can always take a day trip to Big Bear about 2 hours drive and go snow skiing after you are done at the beach the day before. There are many airports that you have choices of flying in and out so you can come here from Cincinnati for a good price. There are a plethora of Marriotts, all brands, and a large variety of prices depending on where you want to stay. I'm originally from Pittsburgh but there is quite a bit to do in Southern California and the weather is nice. I do agree with the other poster, Seattle is awesome but this time of year there's lots of rain and it's a bit cold. It's nice in spring and summer. Their link is: ocpac.org One more thing, you can also always take a hot air balloon ride in the Temecula/Murrieta area which is about 1 hour north of San Diego and about 1 hour southeast of Orange County.
We really enjoy Washington D.C. There are so many places to see and things to do that you can stay busy for a week and still have plenty of things to do on return visits. There are lots of great Marriott properties for all budgets. Public transportation is plentiful and easy. We never rent a car when we visit. If you decide that D.C. will be your destination, I'd be more than happy to offer some specific suggestions.
if you want food you should go to Hong Kong Hong Kong has the best restuarants of all kinds of food. I do mean all kind of restuarants around the world If you want the best it is quite expensive. If you want just good food it will be fine. There is a good deal from cathy pacific round trip to hong kong from SF or LA for 1200 including 2 nights of hotel and all taxes included. (980 + 250 tax) and extra night is about 100 per room or 50 per person they have a marriot courtyard listed as a choice usually marriot courtyard in China is better than most Marriots in the US The location is not perfect but you can take a free shuttle or taxi or (tram us$.4) to the subway station and that will take you to anywhere you want fast and cheap) Taxi in Hong Kong is cheap about $3 for a short trip The package include transportation from the airport to the hotel Taxi is the worst choice to and from the airport. Also no need for visa If you are not taking the cathy pacific package the marriott at the airport is the best deal for your money.
