Hotel and Metro in Paris (hotel airport transporation options)
We stayed at the Marriott Opera last Spring and it was wonderful. The EL seemed to be open on all days for breakfast and snacks in the evening. Can't remember which nights we were there. Exceptional staff and excellent shopping and metro within a block or so. Not as elegant as the CE but has larger rooms and breakfast for Platinums and I think Gold is either in the restaurant or the EL. Would highly recommend. Not quite as noisy as the CE. All seem to be expensive right now. Use your points and don't upgrade.
Truly madness, was just in Paris a few weeks ago, mostly in the 17th district but went past the stadium to and from CDG airport. Friday evenings the streets are a buzz with most restaurants filled to capacity. Such a shame this beautiful city is being tarnished needlessly in such a way. Very sad!!!
I have stayed in 5 Paris Marriotts and have truly enjoyed them all.
Paris Marriott Champs-Élysées - beautiful flagship property, fantastic location, beautiful comp elite breakfast, we thought the cash upgrade for a larger room was worth the price so that 4 adults could navigate the room and bathroom with BEAUCOUP space, very, very nice. Great staff. No CL.
Paris Marriott Rive Gauche - Great left bank property for enjoying the local neighborhood, budget pricing, CL lounge, great staff.
Renaissance La Defense - Great staff, CL, comp upgrades, lower pricing than central Paris properties.
Paris Marriott Opera Ambassador - Great staff and location for shopping. Very nice hotel, comp upgrades, CL.
Paris Courtyard Boulonge-Billancourt - Great budget pricing, great staff, comp room upgrades, no CL or comp breakfast, lovely neighborhood w/many boulongeries and restaurants.
Each one has unique offerings, depending on ones budget, needs and desires.
Good insight on Boulonge-Billancourt. We stayed there two years ago and while the property and the neighborhood were quite nice, I didn't appreciate the long Metro ride into central Paris.
I've stayed several times at the Paris Marriott and after the last visit in 2013 decided it was time to move on. As I get older I find that the noise and crowds are just too much. My next trip will find me checking into the Arc de Triomphe.
