I'll be staying at the Waikiki Marriott. Parking a car there is pretty expensive. I've heard there is another place nearby that is less expensive--a parking garage in another hotel perhaps? Does anyone know the name and location? Thank you!
hi jasmine, if i remember correctly ( it has been almost 5 yrs since i have been there) there are a few "lesser" hotels on the back and right side of the marriott. if i was you, i would drive around the streets a few minutes before i check in, the streets are very easy to figure out not like somewhere in new york city's soho or the village. just pull in and ask the valets, (even the "lesser" hotels had valets or you can easily pullover and run into the front desks), what the price is and if you can park there w/out being a customer. i found the locals to be very friendly and quite helpful. if you have never been to waikiki it is a fabulous place!! be sure to drive up the North Shore line and get into the middle of the island. you will not be disappointed. happy traveling denise
I stayed at Waikiki Marriott in July using Reward Points. I was pleasantly surprised that not only were the parking fees waived during my stay, my room category was upgraded. I arrived early and my room was not ready. However, I was provided access to a secure hospitality suite where I left my luggage and changed clothes. My point is that you might be surprised at what amenities are available, but only if you ask!
I just finished a 7 week business trip (checked out about 10 days ago) to the Courtyard Waikiki and paid $22 a day for parking (the rate when hotel was booked in July). I think the rate now is $25 a day. They would not waive our parking and we had multiple people staying there for business. There is a hotel across the street that charges $18 a day. Renting a car to explore is well worth it and it may be more expensive but so is sitting on a bus to ride around town (time is money on vacation).
