We are going to Paris and Amsterdam and would like to know if we will need power adapters for the Rive Gauche and Renaissance Amsterdam hotels. Do they have 110 voltage with standard US outlet configuration? Thank you!
My experience is no they do not, however check the items you are planning to take with you. Things like laptop power cords, cell phone chargers, etc typically can take either 110 or 220 and simply require a plug adapter rather than a full blown converter. These are much cheaper and lighter to carry with you.
Zukracer is right -- I don't remember 110 voltage outlets at the Rive Gauche or most European hotels (some London hotels have them). Almost everything electrical I take along needs only an adapter to fit the wall socket, but not a converter -- computer, phone, curling iron, etc. ProfChiara
If they do have 110v, they will have only one! Anyway, what are you plugging in? Check your chargers - most of them now say 100-250v, 50-60 hz. If this is true, you need an adaptor and can just plug them in to the 220v outlet.
