Not a great deal of places to eat unless you go to Ko Olina Marriott about a mile or so walk. Hotel is nice and their spa services are very good. Paradise Cove luau nearby. Golf course there. We own a couple of weeks at Ko'Olina Marriott timeshare, love it. We like it better there than the JW
We just came back from a week at the JW. The Disney construction next door is well underway and times gets rather noisey (think large trucks beeping as they are backing up!). For the most part, it was not bad but it is not a quiet peaceful setting by any means. As for restaurants, other than the hotel's there is a market across the road that we used for lunch (much cheaper than $15 hamburgers). We ventured into Wakiki for dinner and shopping 3 nights, and 1 night at the Luau at the vacation club - which was very entertaining. A rental car is a good idea but be aware there is a $30/night parking fee.
