Looking for the best Marriott hotel in Ft. Lauderdale - weekend away for couples, no kids. We want laid-back, very little effort, relaxing weekend. Which of the 5 beach front properties would suit us best?
I recommend the Marriott Resort Palm Beach on Singer Island. All rooms are suites and the area is more secluded and relaxing with a great beach. There are several excellent restaurants on PGA and in West Palm Beach. I suggest flying into PBI rather than FLL.
I'm not sure which would be the best, but I know which to not stay at. I had a horrible experience at BeachPlace Towers. It is one of the few Marritos I ever stayed at that I just couldn't wait to leave. The rooms did not feel clean to me, this was probably accentuated by the sign by the sink that explained the brown colored water was safe. If you drive you might think it is great that they have a parking lot, but it is at least a 5 minute drive up the garage (very narrow) to get to the floors that are okay for the Marriot Guests to park on. Also, as a timeshare, LOTS OF KIDS. I'd choose from the other 4
There is a wonderful resort in Ft. Lauderdale called the Harbour Beach Resort. It is located right on the beach with many resort activities available, also they have an amazing spa. Since I live locally to this property, we have been fortunate enough to visit often. I have gone many times with just my husband and other times we have brought our child. The restaraunt on the property Ocean 3030 is outstanding as well as the weekend brunch. The spa pool is very quiet and relaxing - since kids are not allowed in this area. Also, this property participates with the Points Saver's program so you can stay using less points!
I love the Hollywood Beach Marriott---smaller property, right on the ocean, nice pool, walking path up & down the beach. Ask for a corner room with a view of both the ocean and pool. Very nice. Stayed here on business several times---my favorite hotel in Ft. Laud. area--only 5 to 10 minutes from FLL airport. Almost like a boutique hotel. Wish I would have brought my wife everytime I come to this place. Good luck.
