"Bonus" Upgrades to next Elite level

Does anyone know of any "programs" or "promotions" with Marriott that would allow an Elite member to upgrade to the next level? I know that some airlines will do this as a courtesy if you are very close to the next higher level. At times some airlines will also run promotions where they will double the number of elite ponts during a certain time period (ususally towards the last half/quarter of the year) to help elite members get to the next level faster in the following year.

I would like Marriott to do the same.

Marriott has been running a program called "rollover nights" that does just what you are looking for.   In a nutshell, the program rolled over to the following year any nights above and beyond the required stays for the level you achieved.  ex  -  if it takes 50 nights for gold and you stay 60 nights, the following year you begin with 10 nights.  presuming you increase your stays a bit (15 additional night), you would then reach platinum.  10+15+50=75 nights.  Any other opportunity afforded you would be unofficial and worked out between yourself and the good folks at Marriott Rewards.  Good Luck and safe travels.
