I'm going to give you a summary of the property. For more detail follow this link to my complete post.http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g147320-d149920-r79245143-Marriott_San_Juan_Resort_Stellaris_Casino-San_Juan_Puerto_Rico.html
Summary: the hotel is a nice blend of resort and business. The decor from the outside and the inside lobby is kind of dated, but they are currently going through a renovation of the lobby. The rooms are fine, I always stay in a corner room with a view of the Atlantic Ocean and view towards Old San Juan. Stay in the main tower above the 8th floor, as the lobby, especially starting Thursday nights through the weekend can get very loud and noise can travel up a few floors I believe. The concierge lounge is very nice and comfortable. Nice to hangout for some R&R and a light dinner or for breakfast. Nice views of the city and ocean. The GM runs an excellent operation and hospitality is number one with all the staff. Condado area is nice.
Note: I'm actually heading out in a few days and trying the Renaissance for a change since the Marriott is undergoing a lobby renovation. The Renaissance is much more contemporary than the Marriott and underwent renovation in 2007.
Business Trip Notes: Simply a wonderful experience to mix business with a little R&R. As a Marriott Platinum you will not be disappointed if you choose to stay at this property. Look for whatever special rates the hotel is offering. Parking and resort fees are extra, but not a show stopper to stay here. Concierge access is a no brainer. Too tired to go eat at the restaurant after a long business day, just spend the evening on the concierge level to relax, munch on the excellent dinner quality food, and maybe take out the laptop or smartphone to get some work done. This property allows you the best of both worlds. Typical concierge hours of operation, with access all day for coffee. The GM runs an excellent operation and hospitality is number one with all the staff.
