Costs are going to have to increase for travelers according to one hotel insider.  Here's his view.

(For each location tag, you will be guided through a 3-step process to add (1) a city and a state or a city and a country, (2) a Marriott brand, and (3) a Marriott hotel.)

so true.  I cannot imagine any business out there( other than oil related) that is not in the same boat.  The great recession allowed all of us to reduce work forces dramatically, re-set benefit programs, etc.  All of which, worked in keeping the companies competitive.  Then, as business finally improved, we were able to make lots of money by keeping the costs down.  Costs are now rising and there is no where to cut expenses anymore.  That spells Retail price increases.  Inflation is happening all around.  Who of us isn't paying more for most of the commodities we buy everyday.  Unless and until we get the unemployment mess fixed, demand for product will remain stagnant, profit margins will continue to be squeezed, and increased costs will be the suppliers only mode of survival. Of course, I do not have an Economics degree and the above is only an opinion....
