I am not going to go into details because I have to stay overnight here, but any of you who have followed my posts know which hotel I am talking about from the title.
My experience thus far has been terrible (remember I opted for the no extra pay besides points option)? Well, it could be coincidence, but nothing thus far suggests that. I think I am being punished for not choosing the points plus pay.
Anyway, I will write more when I'm safely home, but I may never stay here again if it continues as it has started.
That may be bad news for all of us!
Do you know anything about the Ren. close to the Arc de Triomphe? I have a reservation there in Sept. (Using points). I wonder if I will also be "Punished", for not paying for the upgrade.
I have not experience the "Punishment", at any other properties this year.
Good luck, I hope your experience gets a whole lot better!
You have wrote so many nice things in the past about this property, this is really a shame. You really had me considering a change to this hotel, as I had never stayed there but was considering it.
Well, have a safe trip back, and I pray this doesn't happen to me on my upcoming trip to Paris. I have really been treated great by all the properties I have stayed at in Paris, so far! It's "Tough enough", when you are buy yourself and get treated like this, but when you have loved one's with you it is really bad.
Let us know what happens!
It is a shame they have treated you in this manner. After your rave reviews in the past, the RG certainly should have recognized your past patronage and not treated you in the manner that they have. Points should be a non issue when it comes to a stay by any customer. To receive second class treatment because one is using the points they have earned is disgraceful.
I would hope that Marriott is monitoring this site as there are far too many recent posts from their best customers that have been nothing less than astonishing in the sense of how much service appears to be on the decline and how incensed their best customers are becoming as more posts come on line.
In business, forewarned is forearmed. Is Marriott paying attention? I think they need to start a serious campaign to reverse this trend and recover the luster they are losing in the views of their best clients. After all, we DO have choices.
Thanks for your kind words -- I will write more when I get home as I'm leaving for CDG now. But I took a couple of photos to prove my point.
More to come-- and I hope this is an anomly in terms of when we use only points and opt out of the 'pay extra for a better room deal.'
Jerry, I've never stayed at the Arc de Triomphe, but did stay once at the Trocadero. It was very nice and comfortable, just not in a part of Paris that was especially accessible for me to libraries.
