I was recently approved for the Premier Visa card and have received the free night certificate in my account. I've received the credit card and made my first purchase. What experience have any of you had with the amount of time it takes for the 50,000 bonus points to show up in your rewards account? I've been told by Marriott Rewards customer service that I should have the points by the end of July. I have an early August trip planned and would love to use the points for it. Any chance those points will show up earlier than they say? Thanks in advance for your help!
in my experience it takes on billing cycle after the one that you're in for these topost toyour account. Seems that with two players (Chase and Marriott) the transfer is not immediate but slow. Have you called the 800 number on the back of that Visa card for their take on this? Maybe there is a way they can issue those points in time for your trip?
Good luck and letus know what happens.
Update! I received my Marriott Rewards Visa around Memorial Day and made my first purchase shortly after that. My first credit card statement posted this week and the next day the reward points were in my account. My e-certificates have been ordered and I'm all set with 4 free nights using points and 1 free night certificate for a trip to the Pacific Northwest. This worked perfectly for me (so far!). Thanks so much for your previous input. Happy, safe travels to everyone!
Took the words right out of my keyboard
Though, for a time capsule answer (for future readers, lol) chase will definitely match any bonus you ask them for, provided it was publicly available. Though sometimes they will even match targeted offers. Many lenders will.
Things to always ask your credit card companies for
1. Waived AF
2. Match a bigger bonus
