I've read reviews that downgrade the Fairfield Inn on Poplar in Germantown, TN because it's close to a train track and freight trains shake the building and are so noisy they awaken guests. Can anyone recommend the best part of the Inn to request to avoid this problem?
I've never stayed there but from Google Maps, it looks like the tracks are on the south side of the road so you'll want a room as far north as you can get. Not sure if there's an easy way to figure out the floor plan to request a specific room number. I'd call the hotel and tell them that you're a very light sleeper and see what they can do for you.
