I'm looking for advice on which hotel to stay at in Paris. I'd like to stay at one of the Renaissance hotels - do either offer the Marriott gold member benefits of a club lounge with free breakfast / drinks throughout the day etc...?
If they don't do any other Marriott properties have this facility in central Paris? Free breakfast - would be a great little cost saver for this very costly trip ;-)
Thanks so much for any advice.
Having stayed at the Louvre Ren. it was a great experience. Breakfast was included and there was no CL. The location was fantastic for shopping and sightseeing. You could walk to Notre Dame, The Louvre, and catch a "Big Red or Green Tour Bus" to anywhere in Paris.
This would be my second choice as The Marriott C-E, at least for "First timers", is a fantastic experience. Again, no C-E, but breakfast was included and you will never forget this experience.
I stayed at the Renaissance Paris Vendome as well, and it was fantastic. Breakfast was included because of the lack of lounge. It was a nice breakfast. Lots of pastries with various jams/preserves. Lots of fruit. And you can order eggs made the way you want them as well. The normal price was somewhere around 25 Euros, I think. Not that I would have paid that if it wasn't complimentary, but it's a nice perk to have included and gives you a higher quality meal and more choices than paying 5-6 Euros for a croissant and cafe somewhere else.
It is in a great location with easy walking access to tons of attractions. The Tuileries metro stop is real close to the hotel too. If you're going to be doing a lot of sightseeing, I would spend the money for a Paris Visite Metro Pass. We did, and it was well worth it.
I'm a little late getting into this conversation but have booked a Paris (and London) anniversary trip for hubby and me in March. Hubby has never been to Europe and I haven't been back to Paris since college which was a looooong time ago! HA! I love the looks and vibe of Vendome. Looks romantic and boutique like. Location looks great too. I wanted to know if platinum members are comped breakfast and sounds like that's the case which is great! Were you given any sort of a room upgrade? I've booked larger guest room with points plus 100 EU per night. Wonder if we would be upgraded from that? I would think also March is a lower season... thanks for any info!
Breakfast in Europe is offered 7 days a week:
Help yourself to light snacks, beverages and complimentary continental breakfast in our Concierge/Executive/Club Lounge at participating JW Marriott Hotels, the Autograph Collection, Renaissance Hotels and Marriott Hotels & Resorts. If your hotel doesn’t have a Concierge/Executive/Club Lounge, we invite you to enjoy complimentary continental breakfast on your weekday stays. Outside the U.S. and Canada, you are entitled to continental breakfast 7 days a week. (Not available at resort locations.)
This is a list that I use to confirm the executive lounge / breakfast situation on weekends:
I have found it to be accurate particularly in the UK hotels that we regularly stay in.
