Having stayed at most of the Marriott properties in London, you have picked a real winner! This is a very quiet and classy property.
Close (Walking distance) to the US Embassy, Harrod's, Buckingham Palace, The original Hard Rock Cafe, Marble Arch and my favorite London Pub, The Audley, you are in for a great time!
You can take the tube/train from either airport to the hotel. Just make sure you have manageable luggage. You should consider contacting the Concierge at the hotel and have them get a car directly from the airport to the hotel if you have a lot of luggage.
Enjoy a few pictures of the area around your hotel.
Glad to help!
If you need any other tips, let me know! I was there for Valentines Day, and am going back in October. It is a great place to go, just don't try to do too much at once!
If you let me know how you like to dine, I will share some places close for you that will be within your budget. You will want to make it one day (Weather permitting) to the changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. I think it is at 11AM.
Totally agree. We have stayed at various Marriott properties in the Mayfair area of London plus County Hall. Grosvenor House is special. Since the refurbishment and becoming a JW property it is definitely the place to choose. Wonderful staff, ambience, rooms are elegantly comfortable regardless of type. The new JW restaurant is a welcome addition and if you get the chance do have dinner at Corrigans -- worth making a booking ahead of time as it is often hard to get a table.
Overall -- we see GH as our home away from home when we are in London and are actually celebrating a milestone birthday there with 24 friends and family next month.
