Bohemian Hotel Celebration, Florida

Anyone have an opinion about, or experience with, this hotel?  It looks a little swankier than I need, but the price is right for a business trip in that part of O-town for a week this summer.  Recommendations?

We vacation in Orlando almost every year for a week or two and enjoy dining at the Bohemian Bar and Grill and Cafe D'Antonio in Celebration.  They are among the places we go back to. Celebration is very charming, quiet and squeaky clean.

The Bohemian Hotel is in the Autograph Collection, an independent hotel that became part of the Marriott portfolio  only a year ago.  For opinions, consider nearly 150 reviews posted at TripAdvisor.  The reviews are mixed.  That said, the most positive feature the location, the views and the service.

The less-than-positive mention a bed & breakfast feel and ancillary service issues.  What's very impressive, IMO, is that the GM makes a point of personally responding to guests.  With suites comprising less than 25% of the guest rooms, it's anyone's guess if they honor a complimentary upgrade for Platinum Elite.  Since the GM's name is public domain at TripAdvisor, reaching out to him in advance might make all the difference.  Do ask about CL and comp bkfst.

For convenience plan on renting a car.  Celebration is at least 45 minutes from Orlando International and likely a $50 - $60 fare w/o tip one-way by cab.  If business requires greater mobility, taxi fares can add up.  The wait can also be frustrating.  The Bohemian offers valet parking and self-parking for a fee.

We just stayed there for Dec. 30th & 31st. They had a huge New Year's Eve celebration that was very family-oriented (4 kids) so we really enjoyed it. The hotel is top-notch and unique for a Marriott property. It's valet-only so be prepared. You really won't need the car since you're in walking distance to many restaurants and bars, a Starbucks, etc... The hotel sits on a lake so try to ask for a lake view room. Although I travel extensively for business, this was a vacation stay, but besides the parking $, this hotel would work just fine for a business stay. There is a nice little bar in the lobby area and a restaurant (which we didn't try), but we did order room service and the food was great. I highly recommend this property.
