Atlanta Marriott Marquis

Visited Atlanta over Labor Day Weekend, and stayed at the Marriott Marquis. It gave us a great central location for visiting the city and using the City Pass. What we didn’t know is that the hotel was hosting Dragon Con that weekend --- it made for a very interesting hotel people watching, and some cramped trips in the elevator, but it was still a great hotel experience.

Check in was efficient --- the front desk was very well staffed to accommodate the volume of incoming guests on Saturday morning. Rooms were clean, beds were comfy, and housekeeping was very efficient.

Concierge Lounge was closed until Sunday night, but when it did open, it was great. Their lounge is VERY big. They offered a couple of hot options, cheeses, veges and salads. They offered local microbrews when it came to beer options. Despite the number of people in the hotel, our room on the 26th floor was quiet. Once you went up to the room, you had the peace and quiet you wanted!

Overall, what impressed me most is that the staff was prepared to deal with the number of people who were on property --- Including what felt like 1000+ in the lobby at most hours of the day. Common areas, restrooms, elevators, hallways were all VERY clean around the clock. Front desk, concessions, restaurants were all very well staffed, and security was tight. If you weren’t staying at the hotel, or attending the conference, they didn’t let you in. I was impressed how prepared they were for this kind of event, in addition to the level of quality and service you expect from a full service Marriott. I’d definitely go back!

Dined here a couple of times for breakfast while staying in the hotel over Labor Day weekend. They have a wonderful buffet! Omelettes to order --- cooked by a lovely lady who was really fun to talk to! Waffles, french toast, eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, fruits, cereals, etc. On the weekend, they had peel and eat shrimp as well as a ham carving station. Beverages were plentiful and refilled frequently. Was definitely yummy! Who needs lunch when breakfast is this good!
