Since I think most of us share the same goals, I am looking for help in finding out whether or not HHonors, SPG, Hyatt and other major high-scale hotel sites have some version of Insiders. If so, could you describe and/or compare them to the Insiders site before and after April 1?
This could be important. If Insiders is (or was) a relatively unique experience, then it is/was an effective marketing tool (kind of our own Tripadvisor or FlyerForum). If that is the case, Marriott should strive to improve it or at least return it to the way it was.
If other hotel chains do have such forums, how do they compare? If they don't have them, Marriott could effectively advertise the site more effectively. If the other hotel sites do have such programs, what are they doing right or wrong?
Priority Club Connect is an equivalent forum for IHG Priority Club members.
As someone who writes about hotel loyalty programs I find Marriott Rewards Insiders and Priority Club Connect useful sites because these are member active sites.
The other programs primarily use Facebook pages and Twitter for information and interaction with members.
FlyerTalk works similarly to the Marriott and Priority Club sites with members discussing aspects of each hotel program in a dedicated forum. Since FlyerTalk has been around for 12 years and currently has about 250,000 members, there tends to be much more information on hotel programs there.
Since much of the discussion on hotels and hotel loyalty programs is developed through FlyerTalk there are official hotel chain representatives who clarify points of confusion related to promotions.
FlyerTalk has two Starwood Lurkers and Gold Passport Concierge and several other official company representatives from hotel loyalty programs including Marriott Concierge.
I just checked out the priority club site and while it certainly isn't as glitzy appearing as Insiders, it looks like it may be easier to find what you want. Here are some of the basics.

Professor, Jet Blue just started a community forum, and admittedly it takes patience to be a member and multiple clicks, but it seems to have lots of activity on a daily basis.
It looks more like Flyer Talk to me at least.
