Just came back from a one week first time stay at this property. I can say that this might be one of my all time favorite Marriott properties in the US. The lazy river pool is really outstanding. Our family of four visited the Disney and Universal parks from 8-2 every day and looked forward to enjoying ourselves at the pool all afternoon. We're not big eaters so we were satisfied with the grouper sandwich, burgers, and salads at the pool bar. Nice Starbucks onsite for breakfast. Beautiful workout gym and spa. Connected to a Ritz Carlton if you want restaurant options. A grocery store and pharmacy is nearby. Seaworld is 5 minutes away and so is one of the finest outlet malls. Rooms are well appointed; however, no real deck to speak of. We enjoyed the Sea World and Epcot fireworks from our 21st floor room in the evening. Bathroom is roomy. Great golf. My only complaint is self-parking was a bit pricey...
If your family enjoys golf, consider the week-unlimited golf at Grande Vista. Our boys 19 abd 21 years averaged 36 holes and day, even when hot they got on by 7am, then again at 4pm to beat the heat.
SeawORLD USUALLY HAS 2-DAYS ENTRY FOR PRICE OF THE FIRST DAY - A GOOD DEAL.
It is a HUGE complex but very nice. The lake and the many shaped paddle boats are fun if you have little kids or grandkids. The restaurant/clubhouse near the golf course has some delicious meals and almost a gourmet type menu. I have stayed there a few times and never had a concern.
The kitchen is very nice as are the screened in patios and dining area. You could cook a Thanksgiving dinner there but check out what they are doing for Thanksgiving at the restaurant first for a lot less work. The Publix Food store down the main street has all the groceries you need at reasonable prices and a great souvenir selection.
Grand Vista in Orlando is an excellent MVCI resort. We have stayed there with family 2 different times (Thanksgiving week and one week during the summer) and always had a wonderful experience. The local grocery store (PUBLIX) is just down the road...money saver for breakfasts and lunches when not at WDW. The resort is centrally located to all the theme parks, great shopping malls and a variety of restaurants. The pools are lots of fun and abundant for NON-theme park days.

What would a Thanksgiving holiday be w/o Black Friday?
Grande Vista is a stone's throw from one of the best shopping attractions in the Orlando area, the Orlando Premium Outlets mall.* Like shopping malls everywhere, the Premium Outlet Mall has a Midnight Madness event so the whole family can kick off their holiday shopping. Then all of Santa's helpers can relax and nap by the pool during the day.
On Black Friday night, head over to Downtown Disney, the Magic Kingdom or better yet, Disney Hollywood Studios for the festive lighting and Fantasmic!** show. Fantasmic is presented in a huge outdoor ampitheater so bring a hoodie, fleece or sweat shirt for maximum comfort.
Print your coupons out in advance* and pack light for the trip so there's room for all the goodies!
