Don't believe the bad posts on tripadvisor. This was a great hotel to stay at. I was there July 8-11 and it was full to capacity. I did not receive an upgrade because it was so full but the room we did get was clean and had a great view of Charlotte Amalie. Everyone was friendly,front desk,concierge, waitresses,and the cleaning staff, and they all smiled and greeted you when passing. We did not find any evidence of bedbugs but at dusk we would get bitten by little bugs this was taken care of by spraying with "off" when leaving our room. The Windows had an excellent breakfast. The only thing we didn't like about the trip was it wasnt long enough.
Thanks for sharing your positive guest experience at Frenchmen's Reef. The negative reports at TripAdvisor have a counterpart here at Insiders. There were several issues reported at that hotel and prior guest feedback seems to have had a positive impact that is reflected in your post. Kudos to the GM of Frenchmen's Reef.
