If exploring the New England seacoast along Route 1, Michael's Harborside in historic Newburyport, Massachusetts is a must try. As we were travelling south from New Hampshire into northeastern Massachusetts, Michael's blue canopy and dark red barn like structure stands out as you cross the Andrew Gillis bridge that straddles the Merrimack River.
Upon entering the parking lot, we encountered a group of diners who had just finished their lunch and asked a few candid questions about the menu, the food and the service. To our surprise, everyone had a great time and suggested we order a Lobster Roll because it was really chunky and meaty. Choice of sides included sweet potato fries, onion rings or home made kettle-style potaton chips and the group tried them all. No one was disappointed.
Venturing in we were warmly greeted and given a table with a view of the river and marina. We consumed every morsel and really enjoyed the food, the views and personalized service. For location, menus and a gallery of photos, point your browser to Michael's Harborside
