Concierge lounge--AGAIN!!

Once again trying to work in middle of the day in CL (internet service in room is slow or nonexistent, wired or wireless)...guy next to me conducting a business phone call, kids behind me fighting while watching cartoons....sigh!

Come on, Marriott!  Got one frustrated camper here!

yeah, the CL isnt really a place of kids unless they are with their parents.  I take my girls with me into the lounge but would never allow them in without me and they certainly are on their best behavior.

I think the lack of internet access in the rooms is a bigger challenge to fix though, lately I've noticed I have to teather my blackberry to my laptop to get any decent connection speeds....sorta defeats giving us the "broadband" for free when we have to find alternatives.

Have you tried using the hotel's business center area?  I have found those areas have the better connection speed and are often fairly quiet.  Perhaps the hotel management can provide you with a suitable place to work, a spare office or something?

I agree with ZUKRacer and with you that the hotel has failed to provide an environment where you can work in peace, and they should find another location  with high speed internet.  The CL concept, while noble at its inception, has fallen away and now it is merely a place in the hotel that virtually anyone can use.

Help, Marriott, please, to bring it back to the original concept!
