The Marriott West India Quay is amazing. Just spent another long weekend there and if anyone is thinking of staying in London, then I highly recommend this property. It may not be in the centre of town but it's a fabulous area with lots of bars, restaurants and very good shopping.
It's also much cheaper to stay there at weekends than most London Marriotts but the quality and service is first class, and well worth the 20 minutes it takes on the Underground to get into the west end.
Also, had a truly wonderful dinner on Saturday night in their restaurant (Curve) which specialises in fish (they also do meat etc). Betwen 5pm and 7pm they currently have a wonderful set menu for 2 or 3 courses. We had the 3 course which included a glass of wine. Each course was superbly presented, beautifully cooked and tasty. There were 2 other choices of each course! I can't wait to go back there again for dinner. The 3 course dinner was an incredible £20. . The staff were very friendly and attentive, but then again, the whole hotel is like this - it is managed very very well indeed with exceptional customer service.
Without any hesitation, I would second your opinion. Not only is it a great hotel, but they are kindly with upgrades for platinums, the lounge was fully open Mon to Friday, with breakfast being available on Saturday and Sunday mornings, plus evening snacks on Friday and Saturday - but not sunday!
The staff are superb! So pleasant, welcoming and very helpful.
There is a multi-plex just across the road from the hotel
Strangely enough I was also there on Friday and Saturday the 19th and 20th March 2010. Wasn't the weather awful!!
I'm glad to see the glowing reports for this location - I just reserved for a weekend later in June and got an amazing rate of GBP105 per night. This after trying to redeem points at one of the more centrally located high-end Marriotts, but not finding much available. It would be nice to be upgraded - does anyone know if Golds get automatic access to the EL?
Thanks in advance,
I agree and I have stayed in nearly all of the Marriotts in London
It is well priced the lounge is the best in the uk .The breakfast there is excellent. The rooms are excellent and the area feels very safe.It is my first choice for London every time. For Americans it may not have the feel of London it is more the like coming out of the Renaissance on wacker in Chicago
