Marriott Rewards, like all loyalty programs, needs to concentrate on the future while not denigrating its past achievements.

 

This article speaks to the need to constantly innovate and evolve in the loyalty marketplace and might be of interest.

    Interesting, brief article, Stepping.  Thanks for sharing it.  Let's hope that the Marriott folks read it too, as I found the quote that "you cannot just view loyalty as a profit driver" particularly germane to the recent discussions in this forum about the difficulty experienced by several MR members when requesting upgrades.

    Well said, Diogenes.  Just as there are 'blackout police' auditing properties that restrict rooms available for point redemption, maybe we need 'loyalty guardians' who audit the level of training so that Elite member benefits are understood and carried out so that the guest experience exceeds expectations.
