After a month of working with a Residence Inn I was able to secure a upgrade to a 1 bedroom from a queen. The General Manager was very nice at the hotel but gave me this upgrade at a high cost to the hotel. As I understand it, it does not count as a award room so for the week I am there he as to allocate an additional room for another reward stay. I now understand why the Residence Inn's are so troubled by the policy. Someone higher up needs to fix this issue so the hotel can help reward members with their needs without be negatively impacted.
