For those that utilized MR Travel Packages to earn the 110k SWA RR points needed for a companion pass, that ended today Jan 1, 2017. SWA changed the terms and conditions to excluded hotel point transfers. A big blow to those that got two years of CP. We were doing this tomorrow for the first time. Not anymore!
*Companion Pass Qualifying Points are earned from your revenue flights booked through Southwest Airlines, your points earned by making purchases with a Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Credit Card, and your base points earned from Rapid Rewards partners. Purchased points, points converted from hotel and car loyalty programs, and e-Rewards, e-Miles, Valued Opinions and Diners Club, points earned from Rapid Rewards program enrollment, tier bonuses, flight bonuses, and partner bonuses (excluding points bonuses earned on the Rapid Rewards Credit Cards from Chase) do not count toward Companion Pass."
Obtaining a SW Companion Pass was one of the best uses of the Marriott Travel Packages. It's unfortunate that Southwest will no longer count hotel point transfers towards the Companion Pass Status. I think in the long run they may loose some of their customer base. After I use up some Southwest Points from my last travel package transfer there will be less incentive for me to fly with the airline.

Well, WN allowed a window to transfer.. Great move IMHO. I called and confirmed.
Yes, I did this last February. While it's not my first choice to fly, we use it for connector flights or when we want to take quick cheap trips. Still have about 86,000 miles left and the pass is still good all the way to the end of 2017. You get it for the rest of the year you get it, and a full next year after that.
