Amex Platinum offers automatic status of Hilton Gold and SPG Gold to their card holders. Would I then automatically be Marriott Gold even if I didn't make the nights required. I'm currently linked between Marriott & SPG but mainly use M to maintain status. I've always done so, but this would make it less of an issue if I was a few nights short?
kroywen, as peymanagement points out, this is the case today. However, this may change with the merger of programs in 2018. Status matches will be gone, as it will be one program. Accordingly, some of the credit card relationships may/may not be renewed.... So, I would just encourage you to keep your eyes and ears open. This site will be a great resource as things develop further.
The other wrinkle is: what happens with American Express? They currently have a relationship with SPG but a competitor is with Marriott. The connection to Hilton is brand new and came after the merger stuff. I suspect that the SPG /Amex deal will end so get linked right away.
However the answer to your question, is yes you can as my wife who has a supplementary Amex card, got SPG Gold, Marriott Gold and Hilton Gold in one day and has not had a credited stay in any of these hotels.
lol, fail for me nationwide i did not fully read your post as I just felt bad that i gave the poster a a yep, from my i phone,Thinking i would get back to him when I got home.
