AndrewT When is the Ritz-Carlton Rewards program going to merge with the Marriott Rewards program? Perhaps at the same time that SPG merges in? Ritz is sort of part of Marriott, but when it comes to several important Marriott Platinum benefits it just does its own thing...Frustrating!
We understand your frustration, mustanggt. Here is what we can tell you about the two programs:
Marriott Rewards members and Ritz-Carlton members can earn points at the Marriott and the Ritz-Carlton properties. Each brand can choose what they would like to offer for the Elite program.
Some of the properties do not offer all Elite benefits, such as the concierge lounge or complimentary breakfast benefit. This benefit is not available at resort locations, EDITION properties, The Ritz-Carlton Hotels, AC Hotels, Gaylord Hotels or select service brands such as Courtyard hotels.
You can view the different benefits online at:
However, you are able to earn and redeem your points earned at both the Marriott properties and the Ritz-Carlton properties.
Hope this helps. Thanks!
