Taking the family (Mom, Dad, Boys 15 &11) to ATL.  See the Braves, Coke, CNN, etc.  Long weekend.  Need reviews on the big three dtown hotels.  (2 Marriotts and the Renissance)  Good, bad, indifferent, all welcome.  Really interested in walking distances, staff, fun atmosphere for the boys.  Thanks in advance.

I just stayed at the Marriott Marquis on business but would not hesitate to head back there with the kids (ages 16, 13, 8).  Great hotel - nice lounge - good healthclub/spa and pool (I didnt use the pool).

Great location - can pretty much walk to the Aquarium or hop on MARTA subway - its real clean and very simple to use.

Marriott Marquis is a cool hotel. Kids should enjoy the pool and there's enough eats and fun stuff close by. Renaissance is kind of tired and closing soon anyway. Neighborhood isn't exactly funsville. Have a good trip.

I agree with the others on the Marquis. One of the attractions in Atlanta is the High Museum of Art located 2 miles north of the Marquis.  But, consider checking out the reviews at TripAdvisor too.  Reviews of the Ren suggest that the hotel has seen better days. It's scheduled to close by year end.
