Opinions on Hyatt's Changes? Anything they've done you want to see marriott do?

Not sure how many of you follow the Hyatt program, but they've recently announced a revamp of their rewards program, entitled "World of Hyatt"

They've remade/renamed their elite levels. Changes will go into effect on March 1st of 2017.

Some great benefits in my opinion, and I wish Marriott would do some of them. Some changes aren't so great though.

Personally love the free parking on award stays, and the ability for a Globalist to let anyone else receive their benefits if you're booking an award for them. Don't know how many of you would be interested in this, but I think it's important to stay up to date on the competition.

IMO nothing in here would make anyone switch from MR. However, I think some of the "25 stay" Hyatt Diamonds may make their way over to MR now that they lost the easy way to the top.

They always sound great, until you see how that individual property does it.

Too many 'when availables' for you to know what you would really get. And I hate the names they have chosen for the tiers.

I don;t stay very frequently at Hyatts, but always interesting to see what the other chains are doing. Thanks for posting it.

It seems to me they've made it substantially more difficult to get to the top, but top tier benefits are broadly the same. IHG did something similar but added a new top tier with further benefits. With such a poor European footprint however I have no chance of even making the 10-night level, so I'll not be changing my stays!

Jsucool76, thanks for sharing!  It is nice to stay up to speed on what the competition is doing.  I agree with insertcoffee, I think the titles are awful....  So, one is not an "Explorer," but an "Explorist?"  Come on, the language has plenty of options without making up stupid words.... Did they pull these out of the Urban Dictionary?  I'll bet someone in their marketing department has since added them....  I do like the M-Life benefits, and wish we had more access to casino perks.

From what I can tell they actually slightly nerfed the casino benefits .

Right now I have Hyatt plat status from the Hyatt card, and I get mlife gold . With the new program I'll be a discoverist (my phone won't even let me type that cause it's not a word! ) and will only get mlife pearl .

I liked the waved resort fee! Wish Marriott would remove resort fees for some levels.

Hmm do resort fees have to be paid when redeeming a free night stay as it stands with Marriott?

I also like early check in option.  Though most of the time (I think due to the app and letting them know when I will be there) I have gotten a room.  I am always early.
