If you're in town this week for the AT&T National Pro-Am here in Pebble Beach CA, may I suggest that folks consider the Tap Room, a bar/restaurant located in the Lodge at the Pebble Beach resort.
While it can get slammed with people after play ends, there are times when the place is not that full, and a haven for golf fanatics everywhere. Not to mention star gazing! And, amazingly, the weather folks seem to be predciting no rain for the week--a rare thing.
Stepping Stones -- While watching the Pebble Beach Pro-Am this afternoon, I got a good chuckle when David Duval and his caddy while waiting to see if they'd be in a playoff, jokingly told the CBS on-course reporter they were heading to the Tap Room to wait. You called it right again.
Big Tap Room news was that several guests got in a shoving match with an officer of the law yesterday and guess who came out on top?
But that does not diminish the need to go there and soak in the golf memorabilia as much as you can. The US Open, a much more structured and restricted venue will be a tougher ticket for all (unless you're working the tournament) and a place to be seen, for sure.
