Looking to book a spring break trip for the end of March. Anyone have experience at either the Grand Residences or Timber Lodge properties? Two of my kids (ages 5 and 8) would be in ski school, so curious how that is also? Good access to everything? Good food? Value? Thanks.
I've stayed in both places at Lake Tahoe and have nothing but good things to say. It's a short easy walk to the gondola and all of the restaurants and shops, you'll definitely enjoy yourself. There's nothing like skiing in fresh powder at Heavenly, looking down at the bright blue lake Tahoe, spectacular! Next time you may also want to visit the marriott resort at Park City Utah.
My family (15 and 10yrs old) and I go every year and we have adopted the Timber Lodge. Both Grand Residence and Timber Lodge are walking distance from the gondola ... we find the Timber Lodge to be more family.
You must try the "Fire and Ice" restaurant in the lobby of the Timber Lodge. Always long waiting list (can't reserve). If you leave your room number ... they will call when table is ready.
Finally, you can buy you lift Tickets at Lucky's for a discount.
We have traded one of our time shares for the last 3 years for the marriott timber lodge. My son, his wife, 18 month old and 6 year old come too. It is the best place to be with kids
. The Marriott Timber Lodge has the kids craft room and they give you the weekly activities for the kids and parents too. They have a smore's night. Ask for the bottom floor in the main bldg. The kid's area, fitness center, pool/jacuzzi & restaurant are all in the main bldg.
Any events are held in the main bldg. To the left of the bldg is the Gondola. You can't ask for more than that.
You will absolutely love this place, we do every year
