My wife and I had an incredible Wild Tiger encounter during a November 2004 Safari in India at the Kanha National Park.
Cool video, jasper100! Tigers are one of my favorite animals. It's awesome you were able to see one up close!
Californian, Although I have been to Port Elizabeth, I was not aware of the malaria free reserves. Having lived in Africa (Egypt and Equatorial Guinea) and a lot of work in Nigeria and Angola, I have been accustomed to taking Malaria Medication (Malarone) so never was concerned about going into Malaria areas of concern. I will be going to Uganda for several weeks in August including a Gorilla Safari and will again be on Malarone during that trip.
I am not able to take many medications and expect that I would be one who would be really sick on the malaria pills. Some who start them find that they need to quit. I would rather not chance it when I can see the big 5 and not be at risk. One tour company told me that half of those they take don't take any. I did want to see Victoria Falls but that is even worse than Kruger. So I will pass on that.
As usual, jasper100, your videos are amazing, and your travels even more amazing! Keep it up and thanks.
Yes jasper100, for sure! I could almost feel the apprehension in the air, wondering what would happen if it had decided to attack and leap at either of the jeeps. Amazing. That is the way to observe creatures, not by looking at them locked up in a cage
