I stayed at NewYork Manhattan/Downtown East. I left my partial dentures in the hotel room specifically near the TV and when I came back from office it was not there. It looks like the person who cleaned the room threw it out.
I talked to the Hotel's General Manager and he said that they could not find it in the trash and there is nothing that can be done about it now.
I understand that this is not a case where something got stolen from the room but it is definitely a case of negligence. I have stayed a lot at marriott hotels and this is the first time I am reporting a lost item. It would cost me a lot to replace the lost dentures. Does Marriott have any insurance which will cover for the loss ?
Thanks for your help. I got the same standard response from the Hotel's GM.
Thank you very much for reaching out to us in regards to your lost item(dentures). As my General Manager explained to you we have done everything in our power to check with the lost & found and housekeeping department regarding your dentures. We checked the trash before it went out for disposal and nothing was found pertaining to the description of your dentures. We take great pride on respecting our guest’s belongings and returning any items if left behind once the guest has checked out. Unfortunately, there was nothing found in the room during the time you occupied it, we even did a thorough search after you checked out and nothing was retrieved. I am sorry but Marriott does not carry any insurance for lost items left in the hotel.
Wow - pretty bad response from the management - hope lindseyh intervention turns things around. Also, hope you are not whistling every time you say "s" between now and replacement time, either way
