I wish to nominate Michael L., the concierge at the Savannah Riverfront Marriott.
Michael did a great job with the usual, booking tour tickets for a Ghosts and Gravestones tour of Savannah and recommending places to eat. What made him outstanding was the follow-up.
We booked an evening tour not long before the concierge desk closed for the day. Since we were only staying one night at the Marriott, I didn't expect to be able to thank him for his help and his dinner suggestions. Imagine my surprise when I was getting ready to leave the next morning that he approached me in the lobby and asked how we enjoyed both the tour and dinner. I'm sure he deals with a great many folks every day, so it was nice that he wanted to make sure we had been happy with his guidance.
Securing tour tickets and suggesting restaurants is all part of the job. The follow-up the next day is what showed me Michael's spirit to serve. On my next visit to Savannah, I know who to look for when I need anything.
