what exactly does "Non-Commissionable Rate" mean?

what does it mean?

    It means Marriott does not pay a commission for this booking.

    Usually when reservations are booked through a travel agent than the agent gets a commission for it from the hotel.

    Marriott like other chains has contracts with many major corporations and when a reservation is made using a corporate code, that usually will bring up the non commission rate statement.
