A look at the Marriott hotel directory opening page today shows the appearance of two new brands, "Autograph" and "Edition".
If this portends expansion of Marriott brands and hotel formats as hinted in previous entries of Mr. Marriott's blog, it is good news for all.
Any economist will tell you that growth opportunities are best and least costly in a down economy.
If this means additional Marriott expansion, note that several high profile corporations are also taking the same tact --- witness names like Kohl's Department Stores' (of Milwaukee) aggressive expansion especially in California, and UK-based "Fresh and Easy" food markets coming into the western US (and the US).
